Mae Ping National Park

Guide description

Mae Ping National Park

Covering an area of over 1,000 square kilometers is the Mae Ping National Park. The flowing Ping River cuts through the forests in the park, and is the extensive park’s main feature. The river is banked on both sides by fertile forest lands with sheer cliffs towering overhead, providing beautiful natural scenery. Parts of the river have, over the ages, forked and split to form lagoons, complete with numerous small islands and rapids.

Another attraction is the seven-tiered limestone  Ko Luang Waterfall, fed by nearby streams. Fascinating stalactites and stalagmites are found inside nearby lime caves, formed by centuries of slow-dripping water. It is only 20 kilometers from the park headquarters and accessible by road.

Admission is 100 baht for adults and 50 baht for children, with operating hours from 6.00 am-6.00 pm daily. Visitors wishing to stay overnight are advised to contact park headquarters at 0 2562 0760 or www.dnp.go.th. In addition, visitors may also contact Mae Ping National Park office, located approximately 20 kilometers off Highway No.106 at Km.47.
