Description
The Itapuã lighthouse or Ponta de Itapuã lighthouse is a lighthouse in Salvador , Bahia , Brazil . It is located on the Itapuã beach , in the sub-district of Itapuã , about 23 kilometers (14 mi) northeast of the Barra lighthouse .
It is a cast iron trunnion tower with 21 meters (69 feet), based on a concrete base and connected to the beach by a concrete bridge. The lighthouse is painted with white and red horizontal bars.
It emits a white lightning every six seconds, with a range of 15 nautical miles (28 km).
