Description
The beach of Ondina is located in the district of Ondina , in the capital of the Brazilian state of Bahia , being the beach of this district that follows the Beach of the Christ .
This beach starts after the restaurant known as Barravento, next to Cristo hill, following the Spanish Club and passing through the region of hotels (where a large number of luxury hotels are grouped). In this region, both the facilities of the Spanish Club and the facilities of the Aeronautics and hotels, prevent the view and access to the beach.
After these passages one glimpses small regions of beach with generally crystalline sea, providing baths and possibility of dives. During the ebb there are some natural pools.
The sands are not very extensive, but they present some tents in the southern section. To the north in the direction of Rio Vermelho there is a cove that at low tide is conducive to bathing and at high tide is much used by surfers.
The beach is about seven kilometers from the center, bathed by the Atlantic Ocean .
The neighborhood where this beach is located is considered a noble neighborhood , and it is in this region that it forms the circuit of the carnival Barra-Ondina and where is the end of this route. It also includes the Governor's Palace , the city zoo and Alto de Ondina at the entrance of the zoo, where there is a restaurant and lookout.
