With its charming French gardens and English park with sculptures by Richard Serra – both of which can be enjoyed on Sundays – Villa Wenkenhof is Basel’s answer to Versailles in miniature.

Hidden behind these historic walls is a long history. The name Wenkenberg first appeared in the Middle Ages and at that time referred to a farming estate. Today the villa boasts magnificent rooms that can be hired for social events. The French garden is open to the public every Sunday.

Villa Wenkenhof is ideal for events such as banquets, aperitifs, seminars and concerts.

The following space and the appropriate furniture are available:


banquets

  • In the garden for about 60 people
  • In combination with the red and green salon to 114 people
  • On the terrace for 96 people

Standing aperitifs

  • Up to 200 people

concerts

  • Up to 100 people


The Villa Wenkenhof can be rented by appointment between Sunday and Thursday by 24.00 noon and Friday and Saturday by 2.00 am at the latest.

An office and a kitchen are available, so that the party service you choose can supply you. 

In order to protect the historic building structure, a few restrictions must be made.

Smoking is prohibited in all rooms.

The house can  not be converted wheelchair accessible.

For concerts or other musical performances, only acoustically played instruments without amplifier systems are permitted.
