Description
The Colbert Gallery is a Parisian covered passage located in the 2nd District, accessible at no 6, Petits-Champs street and no 2, Vivienne street. Built in the year 1826 to compete with the gallery of Vivienne, close to the later, the Colbert Gallery never had much success. After the renovation in the 1980s, it was purchased by the national library of France then devolved to the national Institute of art history (INHA) and has been home for many institutions related to the history of art and cultural heritage. The Colbert Gallery is open to the public who is invited to discover the beautiful Rotunda surmounted by a glass cupola. The brasserie "The great Colbert," modern decorated Art, often used for cinema is located at the entrance to the gallery.

Closely linked to the research programs, they are designed to enhance the funds of the library and Documentation (the party books, collections of ornaments...), to present research on a particular theme or to celebrate a great figure in the history of art (André Chastel, Pierre Francastel, Louis Hautecoeur, Louis Marin...).
